Why is Aloe Vera Used in Cosmetics and Personal Care Products?

First, the personal care and cosmetic industry is the second largest industry in the world ...the first being the food industry.  With so much competition in this industry, only the most versatile and efficacious products can survive.

In an industry where the competition is so sharp and the brands are so many, expensive treatments battle for their place in line to address human skin health.  And though the number of men interested in skin health is increasing ...still 90% of the personal care and cosmetic industry belong to women. And women know only too well that they are constantly being targeted by the product producers, mostly water based, that promote benefits and yet accomplish nothing.

Read the label.  The first ingredient listed is what makes the balk of the product.  And usually most of the personal care and cosmetic products list water as the first ingredient ...read the label!

In this industry, since Aloe Vera products use Aloe instead of water as the base, and since properly formulated organic Aloe Vera products are pharmaceutical grade ...these Aloe Vera products can provide what is termed and referred to as prescriptive skin care for it's users.

Aloe Vera personal care and cosmetic products usually have a long standing association with the American Society of Cosmetic Chemists and their uses for such treatments as dermabrasion and such conditions as acne and many skin disorders have shown that Aloe Vera has been praised for providing the ideal combination of therapeutic treatments that is renown for its beneficial effects.

When it comes down to push and shove ...the cosmetic potentials for Aloe Vera are in direct proportion to the ethics and the integrity of the companies that provide the stabilized organic Aloe Vera based products.

A reputable Aloe Vera product will clear up the chronic condition of Acne Valgaris.  This condition can be cleared with six weeks of routine use.

Psoriasis, an inflammatory skin disease of unknown origin that seems to affect people systemically in the form of unsightly skin blemishes  ...although to date no cure has been found ...a treatment with properly stabilized organic Aloe Vera Gel along with diet changes and vitamins have helped work to great success.

Using a stabilized organic Aloe Vera treatment, one will find its ability to improve the collagen formulation of helping the skin rebuild both the epidermal thickness and elasticity than any other treatment to the skin ...making the skin brighter and greater clarity ...improving the overall tone of the skin ...giving the skin color more uniformity ...a softening and imporvement to the smoothness of the skin ...the skin appears moister over a longer period ...significant improvement in elasticity of about 30% ...the oil on the surface is decreased.

So, as you can see, the Aloe Vera based personal care and cosmetic products have a remarkable advantage over the mass produced water based products.

Be sure to read the label!!

Organic Aloe Vera and the skin ...Part II

In the first article about "Aloe Vera and the Skin", I mentioned the skins function, conditions with the environment and some of the many reactions effecting the skin, including allergies.

Your skin has many tell tale signs of a disorder and can be easily revealed simply by looking in the mirror.

The reflection of your face can often times reveal facts about your skin, your over all health and the presence of different diseases than any other part of your body.

In most cases, it can reflect a general problem, such as, deficiencies in your nutritional state and the effects of stress, aging, certain skin disorders, allergic reactions and the damaging habits of tobacco and of excessive alcohol consumption.

Be aware and watch for changes that affect the color of your face, including the lips and the whites of the eyes. Look for any redness, yellowing, bluish shade, paleness or darkening should also be noted.

Believe it or not, even the shape or size of your face may also indicate a skin health problem.

For example, a reddish characteristic butter-fly shaped rash could be the serious inflammatory condition that affects the body's connective tissue commonly known as Lupus erythematosus ...this condition may be helped with properly stabilized Organic Aloe Vera.

Paleness is one of the most common changes in skin color. It may be the sign of anemia caused by iron deficiency, the loss of blood or many other conditions ...even shock.

A bluish hue to the lips can indicate a serious lung or heart condition known as, cyanosis.

And let's not forget the sun. Although the sun is needed for personal health, to much sun over a prolong period of time causes the collagen and the elastic fibers to break down your skin, especially sun exposed areas like you face ...properly stabilized Organic Aloe Vera can help again.

And while we're at it, let's not forget ...aging of the skin.

Your diet, your lifestyle, your habits such as smoking, drinking alcohol and your exposure to the sun, can all accelerate these age related effects...and don't forget about your sleep habit. You need adequate rest for the body to regenerate.

When it comes to Organic Aloe Vera... I always say..."get it in you or get it on you"... especially with the children, because they love to drink the "best tasting aloe vera".

Therefore, I recommend drinking plenty of clean, fresh, filtered water with two-four ounces of Organic Aloe Vera every day.

If you have a skin condition...use the creme, gel or the lotion...get it on you.

Of course, know your supplier!!

Organic Aloe Vera and the skin.

I've been writing articles about Organic Aloe Vera and the "best tasting aloe vera" for several months now and the feedback has been very interesting, to say the least.

Today, I was asked if I could switch gears a little ...I was asked to write a series of articles about the benefits of Organic Aloe Vera and the skin.

My response was yes, I would. However, the topic of the skin is so huge that I will have to take it piece by piece, problem by problem and recommendation by recommendation.

But, before we jump into the details of the skin, for starters, lets list a few of the more common skin problems:
  • Acne
  • age spots
  • athlete's foot
  • burns, boils
  • bruises
  • cold sores
  • candidiasis
  • dermatitis
  • dry skin
  • fungus infections
  • hives
  • herpesvirus
  • insect bites
  • lupus
  • leg ulcers
  • oily skin
  • psoriasis
  • rosacea
  • ring worm
  • scabies
  • sebaceous cyst
  • seborrhea
  • skin rash
  • skin cancer
  • sunburn
  • shingles
  • warts
  • wrinkling of the skin
...now, that's just for starters!!

Right now you're wondering, where in the heck do we begin?

So, lets start here ...the skin is your body's largest organ and it's made up of three major layers.

The outer layer (epidermis), the middle layer (dermis), and the inner layer (hypodermis).

Your skin serves as the protective covering to protect the body from all of the foreign substances and helps in cooling and maintaining a proper temperature for the body.

Your skin is subject to many environmental conditions such as:
  • changing colors
  • cracking
  • dryness
  • flaking, itching
  • redness
  • roughness
  • scaling
  • thickening
  • and the one condition we most want to prevent ...aging!!

Your skin has many reactions. To list a few:
  • allergies
  • insect bites
  • plants
  • foods
  • weather
  • drugs
  • alcohol
  • tobacco

Here's an astonishing consideration. Believe it or not, 75 percent of all skin rashes in children are caused by food allergies ...especially to:
  • chocolate
  • eggs
  • peanuts
  • milk
  • dairy products
  • wheat (cereal)
  • fish
  • chicken
  • pork
  • beef

These rashes that show up as food allergies are usually pink to reddish in color with some swelling and itching involved.

Interestingly enough, through the time tested applications of the Aloe Vera cremes, gels, liniments and lotions of the Organic Stabilized Aloe Vera, it has proven itself over and over again, to aid in the healing benefits of the many skin problems mentioned in this first article of Organic Aloe Vera and the skin.

My recommendation stands...drink plenty of clean, fresh, filtered water with two-four ounces of Organic Aloe Vera every day...along with the topical application of creme or gel.

As always ...know you supplier.
